# 🔓 How to block timeslots for one service

> Block individual time slots for a specific service without affecting the overall schedule.

> This is perfect for when you have to put in a block to deal with a emergency randomly through the day

Steps for blocking a timeslot on a specific service

Back in your Shopify admin dashboard look at the left panel and click on **Apps.**
Click on **Cowlendar.**
Click on **My Services.**
Click **Edit** on the specific service you want to block dates for.

Click on **Availability** tab.

Scroll down and find the **block specific dates** section.
Click on **Add blocked dates** to block the date of the specific time slot you want blocked and make sure that the start and end time matches the time slot you want closed.

> **⚠️ Warning**
>
> If you add a start and end time that is outside of the time slot you want to block you may end up closing out another time slot.

> Example: If you want to block a time slot that is on January 10th from 12:00 - 13:30. Then you would add January 10th -> January 10th from 12:00 - 13:30
