# 💲 How to use the Pre-Payment feature?

> Configure upfront payment collection at the time of booking.

Pre-payment are a great way to make sure you can collect payments upfront and protect against no shows! 

**Steps for enabling Pre-payment on Cowlendar:**

On Shopify admin dashboard look at the left side and click on **Apps**.
Click on **Cowlendar**.
Click on **My Service**.
Click **Edit** on the service you want to enable Pre-payment on.

Click on the **Payment Tab**.
There you will see the **Pre-payment section**.
**Enable** pre-payment.

> **⚠️ Warning**
>
> Highly recommend you keep pre-payment mode on Selling plans which will allow you to automatically send out the invoice before/after a specific amount of time!

> IF using draft mode
>
> Once the customer has checked out paying only the pre-payment, you'll see a button "invoice remaining balance". As soon as you click this button, your customer will receive an official Shopify email with invoice asking them to complete their purchase.

>
> Click on "orders" then on "draft" and you'll see the invoices that need to be paid there. You can also click on the Draft Order and from there you'll be able to "resend invoice" and/or to collect payment.
