Impact of Using “Customize Price by Durations” on Your Service Setup
When you enable the "Customize price by durations" feature in Cowlendar, you can assign a specific price to each duration you offer within the same service. This gives you greater flexibility when setting your pricing strategy and helps customers understand exactly what they’re paying for based on the length of their booking
Benefits of using duration-based pricing
- You can offer different rates depending on the time booked. For example, a 30-minute session might cost $40, while a 1-hour session could be priced at $70
- This is especially useful if longer sessions involve more value or require more preparation, making it easier to reflect that in your pricing.
- It also gives customers more control, allowing them to choose a duration that best fits their needs and budget.
What to keep in mind when setting it up
- Make sure to set a price for every duration available in the service. If any are left without a price, they won’t appear as bookable.
- Check that your pricing remains consistent and logical across durations. If a longer session ends up being more expensive per minute than a shorter one, it could lead to confusion or discourage bookings.
- Remember that this feature only affects pricing. If you want to limit or offer specific durations, you’ll need to adjust that in your availability settings separately.
Steps to adjust Different Duration Types
In your Shopify admin dashboard look at the left hand panel and click on Apps.
Click on Cowlendar.
Click click on My Service.
Click Edit on the service you want to change.
Click into the Availability tab
Select more than one duration to enable Customize price by durations option
Go to the Pricing tab
Set a price for each duration and save your changes.
